Pro-life Evangelicals for Biden: Does the “Consistent Life Ethic” Justify Voting for Biden?

Pro-life Evangelicals for Biden: Does the “Consistent Life Ethic” Justify Voting for Biden? | The Mark Harrington Show | 10-6-20

Every four years, a small number of evangelical leaders get together and support the pro-abortion candidate for president. 2020 is no different.

The group Pro-life Evangelicals for Biden issued a statement acknowledging that “as pro-life evangelicals, we disagree with Vice President Biden and the Democratic platform on the issue of abortion. But we believe that a biblically shaped commitment to the sanctity of human life compels us to a consistent ethic of life that affirms the sanctity of human life from beginning to end.”

What is the consistent ethic of life? Why is the reasoning flawed in defending voting for Biden? Mark refutes the idea that to be pro-life we must use our limited resources to fight other issues and not just seek to end abortion.

Also, Mark deals with those who in the last few weeks have seemed joyful at the demise of RBG and are gleeful over the President Trump’s illness.

When Ruth Bader Ginsburg died’ comments came from both sides of the political spectrum. Some refused to grieve for her and her family while others gushed with praise for her.

However, just days ago, Joe Biden took the high road and said, “I’m in a little bit of a spot here, because I don’t want to be attacking the president and the first lady now.”

Do we only refrain from attacking a person when they are ill?

Should we delight in the demise of our enemies? Now, with Trump getting infected with COVID, the same thing is happening in reverse. Some radical leftists want him to die.

• Michael Moore thinks Trump is faking it.
• Hillary Clinton’s former 2016 National Spokeswoman Zara Rahim hopes Trump dies.

In response to these and other comments, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok say content wishing for death of anyone, including Trump, is not allowed.

This is all about politics. But it brings up the issue as to how we should treat our enemies.

The Bible speaks of seeking the defeat of Christ’s enemies but also that we should not rejoice in a non-believer going to hell.

Our political discourse has completely broken down.

Additionally, Mark deals with the threat to Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation and how leftists are trying to use COVID to stop hearings from taking place.
